Yes, the cake will have to go but the tennis marathon will hopefully still go ahead on Saturday 26th September but with modifications in light of the new laws for social gatherings. Instead of cake, why not donate? At the end of the day, the most important issue here is that we as a club offer our community an opportunity to contribute to a very worthy cause at a time when charities are really struggling to raise essential funds to provide essential care. Whatever happens, that bit is in place. Thanks to those who have already made a contribution.
The plan is to simplify the day. Yes, myself and Joel will aim to play from 9am until 6pm with a 15 minute break each hour (to selfishly eat our own beautifully prepared cake). Now the idea is to invite up to 6 people within each hour to join us at the club as either spectators or players. This invitation is to all members and their families of all standards and ages. We will book out court 2 and 3 for this, leaving court 1 still available to be booked by members for tennis through the day.
PLEASE SIGN UP ON THE SHEET ON THE CLUBHOUSE WINDOW IF YOU WISH TO PARTICIPATE.
PLEASE VISIT THE HOMEPAGE TO MAKE A DONATION. Any donations made go straight to Manorlands.
As mentioned before, do share this event with others in all ways possible and encourage people to donate.
Now let’s hope the weather stays kind.
Regards
Jon(athan)
